The 158th.Session of General Assembly of the BIE was held in the OECD Center in Paris on November 25th, local time and the new leadership of the international organization has been elected.
Stern, the Danish delegate, was elected as the new president of the BIE and Dimitry was named as the vice secretary-general.

The new chairpersons for the four committees were also elected: Joey (South Korean delegate) for the Executive Committee, Paska (French delegate) for the Rules Committee, Perera(Angolan delegate) for the Administrative and Budget Committee, Claude (Monacan delegate) for the Information and Communication Committee.

The daily work of the BIE is managed by the secretariat and the 4 committees under the authority of the secretary-general.
Executive Committee:
The Executive Committee determines the content classification standards; reviews the bids for all registration expos (World Expos) and recognized expos (Specialized Expos), comments on the applications from candidate countries and submits the comment to the General Assembly for approval; performs tasks entrusted by the General Assembly and seeks advice from other committees.
Rules Committee:
The Rules Committee’s main functions are to examine the specific rules for the Expos and submit them to the General assembly for approval; to provide organizing countries with a guide of all the mandatory regulations for the organization of an Expo; and to establish the Bureau's internal by-laws.
Administration and Budget Committee:
The Administration and Budget Committee’s main functions are to monitor the daily management and check the financial status of the BIE, to prepare the annual budget of the BIE and submitted it to the General Assembly.
Information and Communication Committee:
The Information and Communication Committee is responsible for the BIE’s newsletters and establishing communication strategies of the organization.
Every committee has a chairperson and a vice chair. The Chairpersons of the committees are also the Vice-Presidents of the BIE General Assembly. The eight chairs and vice-chairs, together with the secretary-general, are the main body of the BIE’s management. The positions of the committees shall be elected from the delegates of all the member states.
