Expo 2020 Dubai and Mastercard have teamed up to ‘start something priceless’ as part of a reimagined cashless visitor experience for the next World Expo.
As Expo 2020’s Official Payment Technology Partner, Mastercard will use cutting-edge solutions, including virtual and augmented reality systems, face and fingerprint recognition, voice shopping and wearable technologies, to enable personalised and seamless cashless payments.
The partnership, which was announced during the Mastercard Connecting Tomorrow Forum in Barcelona, Spain, will ensure a fast, intuitive and reliable payment experience for Expo’s millions of visitors, while offering exciting and innovative new ways to pay.
For more than a century and a half, World Expos have offered global audiences their first glimpse of technologies that have gone on to change their everyday lives. Expo 2020 and Mastercard will build on this tradition by delivering one of the most convenient and innovative payment experiences in Expo history.
Expo 2020 expects to attract 25 million visits between October 2020 and April 2021. Its partnership with Mastercard is another element of the visitor experience that is expected to wow people from every corner of the planet.
