i) Overview
Exhibition space: 2000 m2
Exhibition contents: Focusing on Yeosu Expo 2012, the Exhibition explored the theme of “Ocean, Paradise to all Creatures” via four sections, namely “Yeosu Expo 2012”, “China Pavilion at Yeosu Expo 2012”, “BIE Pavilion at Yeosu Expo 2012”, and “WEM at Yeosu Expo ”.
ii) Design Concept
With “Ocean” as the key element and blue as its main color, the Exhibition was decorated with unique marine symbols such as “waves”, “fishes”, “marine vegetation” to create a dreamy atmosphere of ocean. The Exhibition was featured by scenes begun and ended with tress. The fresh design concept made history as the promenade and mirror boxes as the carriers. It created a place of fun and vitality in the exhibition space through image design, content selection, interactive activities, and the refining of the pavilions, exhibits and the wonderful pavilion, items, and exhibits of Yeosu Expo.
iii) Major Exhibits and Items
The Exhibition boasted more than 250 pieces of exhibits, highlighting the “Sworn Sisterhood Coin Tree” symbolizing the friendship between China and South Korea; a Mosaic Picture of Poseidon -- one of the representatives of Tunisia mosaic art; the model of Turanor Planet Solar -- the very first vessel in the world completed the round-the-globe voyage relying entirely on solar energy; the model of “Jiaolong” -- the manned submersible reaching the deepest depth in human history; as well as a golden cup -- a top laurel of World Expo won by the China Pavilion for its creativity as Class-A pavilion, etc.
Key exhibition items included the figure of “Great General of the World”, the nautical chart “Observing Heaven and Earth” representing the geographical discoveries in maritime navigation, the Sky Tower -- a landmark construction of the Yeosu Expo, and the picture show entitled “All Rivers Run to Sea” reflecting the ocean-related Expos, etc. In addition, “Korean Babies”, the interactive item at the parade of Yeosu Expo, was also vividly brought back to add more fun and interaction during the exhibition.
