Today, our journey of theOngoingHistory:fromShanghaiToMilano is with Belgian Pavilion! The key concept in the Belgian/European pavilion in Expo2010 was the ‘Brain Cell’, illustrating the important role of science in the intellectual and cultural development of our society. The brain cell also referred directly to the role of Belgium as one of Europe’s main gathering centres and cross-points of 3 great cultural traditions: the Latin, the Germanic and the Anglo-Saxon.
This year, Belgian Pavilion interprets the theme of expo2015milano by highlighting the country’s environment sustainability and technological innovation. The structure of the Pavilion itself is eco-sustainable and represents an exemplary model of town planning, the “Lobe City”, a responsible, lively, interactive city.
