Today our journey of ?theOngoingHistory:fromShanghaiToMilano? is with Germany Pavilion!“Balancity” was Germany's interpretation of ?Expo2010?. The building’s geometric mass was conceived as a three dimensional sculpture which showcased different aspects of Germany. On the way through "City in Balance", visitors experienced ideas and solutions for urban challenges “Made in Germany”. Highlight of the exhibition was an interactive, emotional show: An enormous LED ball gravitates as pendulum, an internationally understandable symbol, in the dome-like theatre.
At the Expo 2015 Milano, Germany Pavilion reveals itself as “Fields of Ideas” under the motto “Be active”, as a vibrant, fertile “landscape” filled with ideas. The pavilion concept is characterised by close interaction between spatial and content presentation. The “Fields of Ideas” are reflected in the architecture – evoking Germany’s distinctive field and meadow landscapes – in the form of a gently rising landscape level. One of the pavilion’s highlight is the “SeedBoard”, a mobile interaction field that helps each visitor to interact with different stations in order to discover deeper media content depending on personal interest.
