Today our journey of ?‎theOngoingHistory? :‎fromShanghaiToMilano? is with Pavilion Qatar! At Expo2010, Qatar’s pavilion featured art patterns reminiscent of the Barzan Tower, a landmark of the country that was highly symbolic of the past. Inside, visitors could admire a range of exhibitions, including pieces from the Museum of Islamic Art and an impressive underwater display of ‘pearls and oil’ – Qatar’s two main natural resources.

The architecture of the Qatar Pavilion at Expo2015 recalls the traditional market - the souq - with internal paths in Arabian forms. It consists of a large central space with a circular structure that is reminiscent of the form of the traditional food basket - the jefeer - symbolizing the interweaving of local dimensions and global innovation which characterizes Qatar.
