日期:10-13-2015

World Expo Museum Pavilion Belongs to the "Droughty Cluster" of Expo Milano Park.

Participating in the future Expos is one of the important tasks of World Expo Museum (hereinafter referred to as "WEM") to fulfill the mission as the official museum of International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE), inherit the Expo legacies and realize its own sustainable development. From May 1, 2015 to Oct. 31, 2015, WEM will participate in Expo Milano 2015 themed by "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life" as a stand-alone exhibitor for the first time and set up the "World Expo Museum Pavilion" in the park. In the meantime, as the cooperation project between Shanghai and BIE, WEM will expand the communication and cooperation with the international big family of Expos through inter-pavilion exchanges. During the Expo, WEM will develop the cultural exchanges with the member countries of the World Expo and further the exchanges and cooperation between Shanghai and Milano, the sister cities and World Expo cities, thus becoming the interactive platform for "Culture Stepping-out" of Shanghai.

As was introduced, "World Expo Museum Pavilion" belongs to the "Droughty Cluster" of Expo Milano Park, near the east gate of the Park, and is a stand-alone pavilion with two storeys with the exhibition area of about 500 m2. Its exhibition theme is "Everything Begins with Expo--Expo X Expos Travelling Exhibition of BIE". This exhibition will utilize the language of art space to show the historical stories of the Expo lasting for 165 years, Expo 2010 Shanghai, future Expos and World Expo Museum. In the meantime, this exhibition will also combine the "Food" theme of Expo Milano and display a series of classical wine and food born in the history of the World Expo with interesting interactive means.

With the combination of multimedia technologies and traditional handcrafts, this exhibition will openly display the physical exhibits and sculptures related to the history of the World Expo in the form of contemporary installation artworks. Meanwhile, it will also utilize the 3D technology to present the grandness of Shanghai Expo to the audience through the amazing visual effects. What is worth mentioning is that approximately 40 pieces of precious Expo manuscripts and documents of all the exhibits will be opened to the public for the first time.  (3/26/2015 )
