On Oct. 29, the previous day of the closure of Expo Milano 2015, the organizing committee of Expo Milano presented a 25-meter-long "Expo Wall" to the Shanghai-based World Expo Museum under construction. This memorable gift will be placed in the Museum's exhibition area related to the Expo Milano.

On the same day at the Expo Park News Center, Giuseppe Sala, General Representative of Italian Government and Chief Executive Officer of the Expo Milano, handed over a small part of the Wall in a symbolic way to Liu Xiuhua, Curator of the World Expo Museum. Also present at the donation ceremony was V.G.Loscertales, Secretary General of International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE).

This part of "Expo Wall" were varieties of Expo-related objects collected by the social media team staff of the organizing committee from different pavilions, Expo workers, volunteers, visitors, etc., including flags, postcards, documents, photos, souvenirs, and even the paper cups, food wrappers used by the workers, etc. Xinhua International Client informed that this activity jointly planned and organized by the organizing committee of Expo Milano and the World Expo Museum. During the 184-day-long exhibition of the Expo Milano, there were exhibitors from more than 100 countries successively collecting their Expo souvenirs and symbolic tokens and forming into a colorful and magnificent "Expo Wall". With the exhibits donated by various exhibitors included, this "Expo Wall" will eventually have a length of more than 60 m and an area of 180 m2 or so.

Liu Xiuhua said in the interview of Xinhua International Client, this "Expo Museum" was not only a celebration of various exhibitors for the success of Expo Milano, but also a kind of support from the international Expo friends to the World Expo Museum. The construction of World Expo Museum, which would be completed and opened next year was a common decision made by Shanghai Municipal Government and International Exhibitions Bureau after the successful hosting of Expo Shanghai.

She said, "It is not only the first real international museum in China, but also the only official museum and documentation center of BIE. It is the unique museum themed by Expo in the whole world."

Liu Xiuhua, who participated in the organization of Expo Shanghai, said when commenting on the Expo Milano, the Expo Milano had undergone various challeges in the organization-related work, but it still eventually accomplished targets of inviting the exhibitors, attracting the visitors, and was successfully operated, which, therefore, was worthy of celebration. In the Expo Milano, some of the pavilions were quite creative and unique. Without a high investment, many cases, however, had elaborate designs and creative decorations, and meanwhile, achieved success in exploring the profound meaning and interacting with visitors, which was worth learning and promoting.
