Tajikistan Signed Participation Agreement

Today in Astana, a meeting was held between Akhmetzhan Yessimov, the Board Chairman of JSC “NC “Astana EXPO-2017” and Sh. Sayid, the Commissioner of Tajikistan. During this meeting, the parties signed the participation agreement of Tajikistan in EXPO 2017.

The document was signed by Akhmetzhan Yessimov, the Board Chairman of the National Company “Astana EXPO-2017” and Sharif Sayid, the Commissioner of the Tajikistan Section of “EXPO-2017”.

“Tajikistan is the 90th country that signed the participation agreement. By the end of this year, the number of states, which confirmed their participation at the Exhibition, is planned to reach 110, and the participation agreements with all countries are expected to be signed until the end of January 2017,” said Akhmetzhan Yessimov.

In turn, the Commissioner of the National Section stated that Tajikistan will demonstrate its achievements in the field of renewable energy. “Tajikistan has huge reserves of hydropower resources. Currently, we are using only 5% of them. Therefore, EXPO-2017 is a great opportunity for our country”, - said the Commissioner.

The procedure of forming the list of countries participating in the International Specialized Exhibition “Astana EXPO-2017” consists of two parts – the official confirmation of participation, and the signing of a participation agreement.

Over the past week, participation was officially confirmed by Slovakia and Greece. The participation agreement has been signed with Spain. In the near future, other 3 countries are expected to sign, in particular: Belgium, Qatar and Uzbekistan.

To date, the participation in the exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana was confirmed by 106 countries, 101 countries have appointed their commissioners.
