Further to the above part of introduction to the halls of ExpoOrigin and Expo History,today we will introduce Shanghai WEM Hall, Energy and Expo Hall and Future Expos Hall.

The Shanghai WEM Hall is divided into two parts. The first part is an arching video hall, where mainly introduces the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), the relationship between the BIE and the WEM, the WEM promos, and the WEM Pavilion; the second part is the VR experience hall, where mainly shows the charming cityscape and industrial economy of Shanghai through interactive experience.

Let’s get into the Video Hall first. The Video Hall is a semi-arching cinema that uses an arch-shaped screen to create an immersive visual experience and present the shocking promos of the WEM in Shanghai. The multilayered ceiling of “Cloud of Celebration” above the exhibition hall is built with the entire symbol of the new WEM building. Echoing with the immersive promos, it looks like an open time passage, taking the visitors to Shanghai far away from Astana.

Interactive Experience of “Flying Across Shanghai”

Opposite the Video Hall is VR Experience Hall that is also a semi-arching structure. The Interactive Experience of “Flying across Shanghai” in the middle of the exhibition hall innovatively uses virtual reality technology and VR dynamic train. The visitors get on the dynamic train, put on VR glasses, fly up to the sky on the train to tour around the sky and view a different cityscape through a shocking air train travel. Based on the main tones of blue and white, the exhibition hall emphasizes on a steady attitude towards urban development, and a future urban development with a strong sense of technology.

As a product of industrial revolution, World Expo has been witnessing the technological progress and transformation in human use of energy. Echoing the theme of Expo Astana, “Future Energy”, the Energy and Expo Hall mainly exhibits the energy applications and energy machines presenting in the Expos in the history, and tells about World Expo’s attention and consideration of energy and environment under the background of excessive consumption of earth energy and increasingly worsening environment. At last, the Energy and Expo Hall gives an introduction to World Cities Day that was born after the successful holding of Expo 2010 Shanghai, and its thinking about Expo and cities.

Energy and Expo Hall

Entering the exhibition hall, our eyes are first caught by the harmoniously arranged back-lighting film panels, which mainly introduce human use of energy, stories about energy and invention of machines in the Expo history. To highlight the theme of Expo Astana, “Future Energy”, a cubic ceiling device is amounted on the middle of the exhibition hall, which indicates the order and regularization of energy society. Some reprehensive and epoch-making significant energy exhibits are also reproduced and shown on the site, such as steam engines, internal combustion engines and generators. The exhibition area of Expo and Cities gives an introduction to World Cities Day in form of video playback. Based on the main tones of blue and green, this exhibition hall reflects the development direction of future energy, namely, energy conservation and environmental protection.

Introduction to World Cities Day

The Future Expos Hall gives a preview of the soon coming International Horticultural Exposition 2019 to be held in Beijing and Expo 2020 Dubai. By utilization of back-lighting film and laminated exhibition panels, and in forms of colorful introduction and detail presentation, the exhibition hall looks ahead to beautiful future cities and a future world that is more open, more creative and more developed through some beautiful pictures of future Expos.

Concluding Remarks

The Conclusion Remarks at the end using the letters with stereovision effect are some themes of Expos that people keep a close eye on, which show the World Expo's reflections on existing issues and expectations for a better world in the future. Based on a tone of blue, this exhibition hall emphasizes the sense of the future, and brings visitors into the future world through colorful pictures.
