On July 28, Osaka delegation headed by Osaka Mayor Hirofumi Yoshimura, totaling 17 delegates, got to the World Expo Museum (WEM) for a visit and communication. The delegation is comprised of Osaka Mayor and the representatives of Economic Strategy Bureau, Ports and Harbours Bureau, Policy Planning Office, Tourism Bureau, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Osaka Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai. Zhou Guorong, Deputy Director General of Asia Pacific Division, Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government accompanied through the visit. Liu Xiuhua, Director of the WEM, Yu Zhenyu, Deputy Director of the WEM, and corresponding related personnel from General Affairs Office (International Exchange) and literature research center presented and participated in the communication.

The delegation visited the WEM’s permanent exhibition halls, got to know the history of World Expo, and focused on the exhibition area of Expo 2010 Shanghai, and the course of application, preparation and hosting of Expo 2010 Shanghai, specially the planning proposal of Expo Shanghai Site and the subsequent use of the site after the Expo.
In communication process
Osaka is bidding for Expo 2025. In communication process, Osaka Mayor Hirofumi Yoshimura exchanged his views of many issues, such as how to get greater support of more people in bidding stage, how to deepen the theme to get recognition of the BIE, and the follow-up effect of World Expo 2010 Shanghai. Director of the WEM Liu Xiuhua exchanged her views with Osaka delegation on the functional positioning and development goals of the WEM, and how the WEM cooperates with the organizers and applicants of future Expos.
