Liu Xiuhua, Director of World Expo Museum, receiving the award
As part of the celebration, awards were given to businesses and organizations which have contributed to the welfare and development of women and children in Shanghai in 2017. The World Expo Museum is one of the award-winning organizations.
Costume show
The main activity of the gathering is a costume show. Three costume performances present the diversity and fusion of cultures, and tell moving stories of how organizations and individuals from around the world have championed or helped advance the cause of humanity.
Chinese folk dance
Dance to Uygur music
The stories include a charity project. Late last year, Shanghai Municipal Women's Federation and Yunnan Province Women's Federation signed an Agreement of Counterpart Assistance. The project provides grants to female students, assistance to women starting businesses, home-care skill training, aid to children with congenital heart disease, health science popularization, free clinics by female doctors and exchanges between women officials of both regions. The project will create opportunities and platforms for the development of women in Yunnan and Shanghai.
