¡¡¡¡The theme chosen for the International Museum Day 2018 is: Hyperconnected museums: New approaches, new publics.
¡¡¡¡Celebration events for the International Museum Day 2018 began on May 18 in Shanghai.
¡¡¡¡As the host city for celebration in China, Shanghai organized a series of events on the general topic of Museums and Good Life. The events aim to promote the cultural heritage of China and satisfy the needs of the public for a better life.
¡¡¡¡World Expo Museum, the venue of celebrations for that day, had a lot of surprises for visitors.
¡¡¡¡Museums from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui and Shanghai showcased the theme in an area of nearly 1300 square meters on that special day. It was the first Yangtze River Delta Museum Education Expo on the theme of "Museums as an Access to Knowledge¡±.

¡¡¡¡As the first of its kind, the expo of museum education presented the contributions of museums to public education through unique design and exhibit selection. The expo expressed the shared voice of all participants about the role of museums.

¡¡¡¡Nanjing Museum elaborated its public education efforts in 2017 and presented its achievements in terms of open service, visitor reception, educational activities and wisdom platform. The Nanjing Museum exhibition area has blue color as its identity.

¡¡¡¡Anhui Museum taught the young people the art of bronze inscription in small classrooms, helping them appreciate the beauty of Chinese characters and further understand bronze inscription through interactive games. Stage plays told the storiesofnational treasures as well as the meaning and historical value of inscriptions on them. Hands-on experience was also offered to make rubber stamp with inscriptions.

¡¡¡¡In the afternoon, a "Museums and Good Life" Forum was held in the WE Theatre ofWorld Expo Museum. Mr. GuanQiang (Deputy Director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage), Prof. Ge Jianxiong (of Fudan University), Rainer Vollkomer (Curator of the National Museum of Liechtenstein), Mr. An Laishun (Vice Chairman of ICOM), Mr. Chen Kai (Senior Scientist of Baidu) and Mr. Yang Zhigang (Curator of Shanghai ) gave keynote speeches at the forum.
