On November 22, 2018, Mr. Stefano Boeri, President of La Triennale di Milano (Milan Triennial), visited WEM. Mr. Boeri has deep affections for world expos. He has engaged in many world expos and was chief planner and theme developer of Expo 2015 Milan.
Accompanied by WEM curator Liu Xiuhua, Mr. Boeri took a serious tour of the permanent exhibitions of WEM. He expressed great interest in the Expo history and its exhibits. He stopped to take photos of the exhibition from time to time. He thanked WEM for allocating space for Milan Triennial, and promised that he would help enrich the content of the exhibition.
Mr. Boeri also visited the temporary exhibition hall, the Cloud Hall and other public spaces, and highly praised the architecture and functionality of WEM.
After the visit, both sides held a short talk. The 2019 Milan Triennial on the theme of Broken Nature will be held from March 1 to September 1, 2019. Mr. Boeri invited WEM to send representatives to Milan again. He said he expected both sides to further strengthen communication and cooperation to jointly promote the cause and development of world expos.

Mr. Stefano Boeri
Mr. Stefano Boeri is a world famous architect, curator, critic and educator. He graduated from the IUAV University in Venice in 1989 with Ph. D. From 2011 to 2013, he served as Deputy Mayor of Milan and head of Head of Culture, Design and Fashion, and worked as chief planner and theme developer of Expo 2015 Milan. He is currently Councillor for Culture and Major Events for the Mayor of Florence. Mr. Boeri is also a professor of urban planning at Polytechnic University of Milan. He has taught at Harvard University, Columbia University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Norwegian Bellahan Institute of Architecture, Moscow Stellaka and other internationally renowned architecture institutions. Mr. Boeri was the editor-in-chief of the international magazine Domus from 2004 to 2007 and Abitare from 2007 to 2011. Currently, he is the editor of The Tomorrow. Mr. Boeri is also the founder of Diversity, the international joint research institution. Since 2007, he has served as the curator of the Italian Architecture Festival. He is currently the curator for the research "Sao Paulo Calling" and the guest curator of the 2015 Venice Art Biennale. His works include the Vertical Forest in Milan, the Vertical Forest in Milan, the Villa Méditerranée in Marseille, and the House of the Sea of La Maddalena. His works and designs have been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, Milan Triennale, Kassel 2002, Mutations, Bordeaux, 2000, Berlin Kunst Werke, Paris Museum of Contemporary Art, Vienna's Generali Foundation and Tokyo TNProbe.
