What do you think of British foods?
Last week, the "Food Is GREAT" exhibition organized by the UK Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Department of International Trade (DIT), as well as a food and drink webcasting show was held at WEM.
Do you think the UK has only fish and chips? After this exhibition, you will change your mind.
60 leading food and beverage companies from the UK participated in the show, including some time-honored British brands. It is a great opportunity for Chinese food and beverage professionals to taste British foods and drinks and understand why they have been so popular around the world. The show featured a wide range of premium Scotch whisky, gin, dairy and seafoods, as well as beer, English sparkling wine, luxury cutlery, English afternoon tea and cheese. Participants included professional buyers, prospects, opinion leaders, media, and importers and distributors.
In the WE Theatre of WEM, a seminar was held for professionals in the Chinese food industry to introduce the British food and beverage industry and how they can benefit from cooperation with the British producers and suppliers. It also allows Chinese food and beverage professionals to learn more about the products, culture and business opportunities in the UK food and beverage industry.
The webcasting show is a highlight of the event, allowing people who were unable to attend the seminar to follow the onsite procedures and listen to keynote speeches. The webcast was hosted by Mr. John Edwards, Consul General of the United Kingdom in Shanghai, and was broadcast live on iQiyi and Inke.
