Student Delegation from José Rizal University Visits the WEM

　　On the morning of June 13th (Thursday), with the theme of “Student’s Cultural Visiting Activity", a delegation of 12 students from José Rizal University, Philippine visited the World Expo Museum (WEM) in Shanghai.

　　In the brief room of No.1 South Building of WEM, Ms. Liu Xiuhua, Director of the WEM, extended a warm welcome to the student delegation and introduced the general situation of the WEM. Then, Mr. Chen Haigang, Vice President of Shanghai Public Diplomacy Association, introduced to the students the general information of Shanghai City and its economic, social and cultural development. The students thanked WEM by giving a performance. They played and sang by themselves a Chinese song, named "A Grateful Heart", which deeply moved all the audience.

　　Subsequently, the delegation watched the special-effect film,“Ablaze at the Expo”. Finally, they followed the lecturer to visit the WEM. They visited 8 permanent exhibition halls,“the World Comes Together”,“Moving with Progress”,“the Optimism of Modernity ”,“World of Challenges”,“Century’s Event”,“World Civilization”,“Chinese Wisdom” and “Vision of Future” in a succession, which helped them fully understand the Expo history.

　　The student delegation of José Rizal University consists of 10 young students with poor family status and 2 teachers. This “Student’s Cultural Visiting Activity” is one of 2019 Friendly Exchange and Cooperation Programs of the Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai. The main purpose is to enable these students to experience the economic growth of China and the charm of rapid urban development via this visit as well as to focus on Philippines-China friendly exchanges between youths and strengthen the friendly cooperation.
