Recently,'Japan Day' observed at Beijing horticultural expo in the Guirui theatre. Vice President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zhang Shenfeng, Minister of the Japan Embassy in China Hideo Ishizuki, Production revitalization Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan Suzuki Yoshinori attended the ceremony.
Zhang Shenfeng pointed out that the theme of the Japanese garden "Facing the sea, seasonal flowers", from "colorful spring","beautiful summer scenery" to "rich and solid autumn", the garden fully displays Japanese flower culture and conveys the concept of integrating nature into life. It is believed that through the Beijing World Horticultural Expo and "Japan Day", the friendship between China and Japan will grow deeper, the cooperation between China and Japan will become closer and play an even more important role in building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Ambassador of Expo Osaka 2025 Sakakibara Sadayuki introduced Expo Osaka 2025. The theme of the Osaka Expo is " Designing Future Society for Our Lives". It located on a 155-hectare artificial island called "Yumeshima Island" in Osaka's waterfront, it will be the first world expo which be held on the island, featuring daily sunsets falling into the sea. The planned date is from 3nd May to 3nd November of 2025, and it will last for 6 months.
It aligns with global efforts to tackle the common international community issues outlined in the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Poverty eradication; Eliminate hunger; Good health and well-being; Quality education; Gender equality; Clean drinking water and sanitation; Cheap and clean energy; Decent jobs and economic growth; Industry; Innovation and infrastructure; Narrowing the gap; Sustainable cities and communities; Responsible consumption and production; Climate action; Underwater life; Terrestrial organisms; Peace, justice and strong institutions; Partnerships that promote the achievement of goals.
Sakakibara Sadayuki highlighted that Expo Osaka 2025 will actualisation of Society 5.0, and will be willing to discuss with countries around using artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) to solve development problems in three dimensions of society, economy and environment and turn to sustainable development.
At the same time, the Osaka Expo 2025 is also dedicated to the pursuit of fun and happiness. The "smile" culture in Osaka has taken root. Osaka is also one of the few food cities in Japan.
After the ceremony, all guests went to visit the Japanese garden. The Exhibition Garden of Japan, which consists of a courtyard and an exhibition hall, displays Japan's colorful and profound horticultural culture and modern lifestyle.
The garden shows the style of "pool spring", the pool is set in the garden center. Through the application of the traditional gardening technology of mountain and stone combination and plant layout, the spring water flows out of the deep mountain and valley, passes through three sections of waterfall, and finally flows into the natural landscape of the pool. On the east side of the garden, there is a teahouse japanese pavilion, with carved stone lanterns and hand basins to form a "teahouse courtyard" and create a space for guests. There are also koi fish from Nagaoka shiand Ojiya shi.
With the help of the steel structure, the pavilion has a spacious space without columns. The broad eaves are characteristic of Japanese architecture can protect the building from the damage of sun, wind and rain. In the exhibition hall, Japaneseikebana performances, bonsai and western flower art experts use four seasons Japanese flowers, themed "Facing the sea, seasonal flowers". With flowers from different seasons, the exhibition hall presents the Japanese flower culture that integrates nature into life. The central main exhibition area will be changed every two weeks to show the flowers and life of the four seasons in Japan.(By Sunyi)
