On December 7, 2020, the World Expo Museum, the Bureau International des Expositions and the organization of Expo 2020 Dubai held an online video conference to discuss and confirm the content of the memorandum of cooperation between the three parties. The Secretary General of the BIE Mr. Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, Chief International Participants Officer Omar Shehadeh and Director of the World Expo Museum Liu Xiuhua attended the meeting.
After discussion and confirmation by the three party representatives, the meeting reached an agreement on all the terms of the " Memorandum of Cooperation between Bureau International des Expositions, organization of Expo 2020 Dubai and World Expo Museum "(hereinafter referred to as the "Memorandum"). On the basis of the meeting, the three parties completed the formal signing of the "Memorandum" in December.
As the only official museum and official documentation center of the Bureau International des Expositions, participating in the future World Expo is an important cooperation project between World Expo Museum and Bureau International des Expositions. With the approval of the municipal government, the World Expo Museum has confirmed that it will participate in Dubai Expo which will be held from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
The "Memorandum" clarifies the form and key content of the cooperation between World Expo Museum, Bureau International des Expositions and organization of Expo 2020 Dubai in the full cycle before, during and after the Dubai Expo. It laid the foundation for the three parties' long-term cooperation in the areas of knowledge sharing, publicity and promotion, exhibition education, academic research and cultural exchanges by the World Expo platform.
