Introduction

　　The Expo 2020 Dubai, with the theme of "Communicating Minds, Creating the Future" will be held from October 2020 to April 2021. World Expo Museum will participate in the Expo as the official museum of Bureau International des Expositions. The exhibitions and cultural activities of the World Expo will become a wonderful stage for global artists and works of art.

　　On the one-year countdown to the opening of the Dubai Expo, World Expo Museum and Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts have joined hands to "Design for the World Expo", with the theme of "Communicating Minds, Creating the Future" for the Dubai Expo, collecting works from young Chinese and foreign artists, teachers and students of art academies, held a special exhibition of "Keep Radiant". The exhibition attempts to use artistic works to speak, interpret the theme of the Dubai Expo and the three sub-themes "Opportunity","Mobility" and "Sustainability", and interpret the influence and driving force of the World Expo on future development from the perspective of contemporary art design.

　　Attracting the young generation, expressing passionate ideas and pursuing true attitude that dares to express, MISHKA eyeball-themed Graffiti drawn by modern artists across the globe to show its concerns about World Expo from different regions, cultures and perspectives. This exhibit comes from the brand MISKA. MISHKA has been promoting and supporting the creation and communication of graffiti illustration artists at home and abroad.

　　The OceanEnamel Device

　　This enamel devicehas a diameter of 2meters and coversan area of 4.37 kilometers.It is necessary to customize a large-scale firing kiln during production, so as to achieve integrated firing, so that the enamel can achieve the best color effect.

　　Auspious Beast Doll Series

　　Artist: Chen Guanliang

　　Size: 5M* 0.6MM

　　Auspicious Beast Doll Series took the inspiration from the China traditional folk paper-cutting,

　　especially the Hair Bun Dolls.The artistbreaks up and reconstructs the common Kirin image, uses his subjective imagination to innovate, and draws different styles of Auspious Beast Dolls.

　　The exhibit is engraved on thin basswood slices based on the folkpaper-cutting elements of China. It is depicted in a lined manner and presented in a hollow form，representing Chinese national art and spirits.

　　Into What Has Been There

　　Artist:Qiu Jia

　　Qiu Jia, Young Chinese sculptor, has held the 2018 "Rehearsal" Qiu Jia solo exhibition and "Infrastructure" Qiu Jia solo exhibition; He has won the Magnolia Award many times.

　　The abandoned furnitures to discuss the relationship between human and object in the consumption society. Meanwhile, the exhibit aims to explore the meaning of the existence of those "useless" objects in new contexts. Using the texture and aura of woods not only carries forward the minimalism theory of focusing on the essences of objects but also accords with the Chinese tradition of diligent and thrifty. Only by making the best use of "useless" objects can we realize a sustainable development.

　　In the butterfly darkroom, visitors can experience the immersive experience of being captured by the lens, magnifying the extreme microcosm of 1000-5000 times. While feeling the beauty of butterfly scales, they recognize the importance of protecting the ecological environment and sustainable development.

　　The UAE is a very important partner in “the Belt and Road” initiative. Two large-scale installation works move and quietly present the sub-theme of "Mobile and Connectivity" of the Dubai Expo.

　　Artist: Lili Zhang

　　Size: 6M*6M *7M

　　Shanghai is an important port for the 21st century.So Public Art Collaborative Innovation Center member Zhang Lilidesigned with intangible cultural heritage inheritor, building a ancient sailing installation to create a tranquility sea with bamboo and silk by dyeing and embroidery techniques.

　　Size: 8*3m

　　Sichuan Bamboo Weaving is listed as an intangible cultural heritage. This exhibit includes three bamboo-weaved sketches of continuous skylines that look like right-falling strokes in Chinese characters. The exhibit demonstrates that people, cities and nature are able to see, influence and accommodate each other.

　　Through the inheritance, innovation of Chinese characters and intangible cultural heritage, the exhibition area displays the information carrier of "communication", and the official image of the Dubai Expo at the exit highlights the theme of opportunity, innovation and "creating" the future again.

　　Consistence of Characters

　　Artist:Huang Kejian

　　The world is getting to know and learn the Chinese language. We will face more opportunities and innovation. And creativity will become the core engine of development. By font innovation and redesign, we are able to explore the charm and meanings of Chinese characters, in a wider perspectives. Type Lab of Shanghai Academy of Fine Art pays attention to the inheritance of the Shanghai font design context, and then moves forward on the basis of inheriting the tradition.
