At 10:00 a.m. on February 14, 2022, Dubai time, in the World Expo Museum pavilion at the Dubai World Expo, the general representative of the Arab League Pavilion donated the " LAS Documentary Book " to the World Expo Museum.

Donation " LAS Documentary Book "

In 1942, to create an entity representing the Arab states, the League of Arab States has since been established. Donation " LAS Documentary Book " contains almost 6000 pages, these records which were derived from the second oldest daily newspaper in the Arab region, not only showcases the long history of the League of Arab States, but is also considered a wealthy source of information displaying the evolution of press and journalism in the Arab world for more than 75 years.

Ambassador Hossam Zaki Assistant Secretary General and Commissioner General of the League of Arab States, said that the book has been a great centre of attraction in LAS Pavilion since the inception of Expo. They were proud to have the League of Arab States exhibit in the World Expo Museum in the future, and to be part of the 170-year history of the Expo, as a legacy of the League of Arab States in the history of the Integrated Expo.

Donation Ceremony

The Arab League Pavilion will donate not only the paper version of the book, but also a digital version as the League of Arab States' support for the research work of the World Expo Museum's library and documentation center. The exhibition of the book in Shanghai will also be another milestone in the existing cooperation between the League of Arab States and China.

Ms. Liu Xiuhua, director of the World Expo Museum, expressed her sincere gratitude to the Arab League Pavilion for its generous donation through a video. With the theme of "one thousand and one keys", the League of Arab States Pavilion takes visitors on an impressive journey through seven decades of Arab achievements. Exactly as the theme of the Expo 2020 Dubai saying,"Connecting Minds, Creating the Future", the League of Arab States has been committed itself to establishing an integrated Arab World, connecting Arab states with the rest of the world, boosting all parties to build a better future. The Archival Documentary Book, which the LAS Pavilion donates to the WEM records the development history of the LAS. It boasts of historical significance as a legacy symbol of both Dubai Expo and Arab States.

Issue the Donation Certificate to the General Representative of the Arab League Pavilion

We promise to properly keep and display this book, so as to introduce the League of Arab States and Arab countries to more visitors. After Expo 2020 Dubai, the donation will be displayed in the Expo Dubai area of the World Expo Museum. We hope that the epidemic will subside at an early date, and we will invite all of you to the World Expo Museum to write a new chapter for "Connecting Minds, Creating a Future".
