On International Women’s Day 2023,“SHE·Women's imprint on EXPO”is dedicated to each one of "Her".
On the morning of March 8, the new exhibition "SHE·Women's imprint on EXPO" opened. Through the relevant objects and documents on display, the exhibition recreated women in the recollections of "Her", following the steps of women at the Expo. The exhibition is also anticipated to encourage visitors with regard to women’s culture, women’s development and future vision.
The exhibition is divided into four units:" Prologue Hall","Presence of women","Chapter by women" and "A shared future".
The prologue tells the history of women's development, using dark blue space to create a sense of historical sedimentation.
Through fine works and documents in the collection such as, Lucy's fossils, Amazonian warrior women, Mariana. The “Presence of women” section expresses that “women” is not confined to various labels, but have represented a social culture.
The “Chapter by women” section, through "Beginning - Interaction","Progress - Mutual Commitment", and "Prosperity - Dependence", tells the story of the intertwining of the Expo and women's culture, which has borne different kinds of prosperous fruits in the interplay of world cultures.
The “shared future” section mainly through pixel paintings and live interaction, showcases the images of women at the Expo, classic and legendary women from the past and present, in order to record and show the "influence" of women.
Princess Sissi's costume donated by the Austria Pavilion at the Expo 2010 Shanghai
Princess Sissi made a stunning appearance at the Expo 1873 Vienna and since then, her beauty has become famous overseas .
With the advent of the first industrial revolution, inventions that came into the lives of the general public through the Expo, such as sewing machines and washing machines, helped housewives save a great deal of time and gave them the opportunity to get out of the home and into school and the workplace."It can be said that the industrial revolution has provided employment opportunities for more women and allowed more women to participate in the Expo. Expo, industry, and women promote the development of each other.”
The Expo 1876 Philadelphia created the first separate pavilion for women. The Women's Pavilion at the Expo 1893 Chicago, which was designed, furnished, and exhibited by women, was a huge hit at the time. In the midst of the trend of social and personal values, women also actively participated and continued to search for a new self. The Expo is a reflection of the evolution of society and civilization, and the advancement of women is one of the important part.
When the Expo 1900 was held in Paris, as the most prestigious Austria artist living and working in Paris at the end of the 19th century, Muscha was selected by the Austro-Hungarian Empire to design the left part of the poster and the upper right typeface. His artistic style was largely influenced by the women's liberation movement of that time, and the women in his works are sometimes innocent and sometimes flirtatious, showing the elegance of women.
On the first day of the opening,“SHE ? Women's imprint on EXPO” welcomed a lot of viewers. We also saw a familiar face: Chen Xuan, the host of Shanghai Foreign Language Channel (ICS).
Each one of "Her" is unique.
Best wishes to all the women in getting what she wants.
