The 173rd General Asse mbly of the BIE was held in Paris on November 28. As the only official museum of the BIE, at the invitation of the organizer, Director Liu Wentao of the World Expo Museum anda group of 3 people went to Paris to attend the conference and hold working talks with the BIE.

　　This is the first time since the outbreak of the COVID-19 that the World Expo Museum delegation has returned to the General Assembly of the BIE in an offline format. At the meeting, the delegation listened to the work reports of various committees of the BIE, the progress reports of the comprehensive World Expo, the professional World Expo, the World Horticultural Exposition and the Milan Triennale that are being held and will be held soon, as well as the sponsors of the 2030 comprehensive World Expo. The final statement witnessed Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) being selected as the host country for the 2030 Comprehensive World Expo.

　　During the conference, the World Expo Museum delegation met with Chairman of the General Assembly of the BIE Cui Zaizhe, Chairman of the Information and Communication CommitteeMragorSorambayev, Chairman of the Japan Expo 2025 AssociationHiroyuki Ishige, Chairman of the Milan TriennaleFoundationStefanoBoeri and members of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Representative Office in France had exchanges.

　　Before and after the conference, at the joint invitation of the BIE and the organizer, the visiting delegation also participated in the celebration reception of the 2027 Belgrade Expo and the 2030 Riyadh Expo celebration reception respectively, establishing contacts with relevant parties of the two future World Expos.

The World Expo Museum delegation was invited to participate in exchange activities with host countries of future World Expos.

　　On November 29, Director Liu Wentao and her delegation were also invited to visit the office of the BIE and discussed with Secretary-General of the BIE DimitriKerkentzeson issues of common concern such as the Council meeting and working mechanism, the World Expo Museum’s participation in the 2025 Osaka World Expo, etc.
