Japanese poster design has strong cultural characteristics, and each of its designers has different style characteristics.
The 2025 Osaka World Expo is about to be held, the World Expo Museum as the official museum of the International Exhibition Bureau will participate in the entire exhibition. On the occasion of the countdown to the one-year anniversary," The Journey of Posters-- Japanese Classic Poster Exhibition" will be held from March 28th to April 21st.
Poster design aesthetics are known for their visual presentation and craftsmanship ingenuity." The Journey of Posters-- Japanese Classic Poster Exhibition " takes "Diversity of Life and Sustainable Development" as its theme and displays Nagai Kazumasa, Fukuda Shigeo, Katsui Mitsuo, Makoto Matsunaga, UG Sato, Masuki Aoba, Katsumi Asaba, Takashi Akiyama, Ken Miki, Kenya Hara, Manabu Mizuno, etc. (ranked in no particular order) 17 "top-notch" designers, spanning 40 years and more than 30 series , more than 80 poster design works.
The exhibition focuses on the artistry of "design aesthetics" and also has the "check-in" that citizens love. Through the exhibition, you can not only feel the designer's thinking, interpretation and performance of nature, life and the future in different dimensions; you can also appreciate different forms of printing technology and artistic interpretation. This exhibition is a warm-up for the World Expo Museum to participate in the 2025 World Expo, and is also a continuation of the "World Expo and Art" themed exhibition.
The authors of the exhibition include a number of top designers such as the President of the Japan Graphic Design Association (JAGDA) and the winner of the Yusaku Kamekura Prize, as well as designers of the Olympic Games, the World Expo and other world events, and designers of famous brands and IPs such as Kumamoto Bears, Issey Miyake, Muji, Shiseido, etc. The exhibition will be organised by the Japan Graphic Design Association (JAGDA) and the Japan Design Association (JDA).

The exhibition design pays homage to the Bauhaus style shown in the posters, which had a profound influence on the development of Japanese graphics, and displays the works in a combination of structures, colour blocks and lines, observing, deconstructing and reconstructing them in order to present the richest visual sensation.

Akiyama Takashi Humour Illustration Poster Exhibition (Shanghai/Beijing)
In the red sky with golden roofs, cranes are fluttering, representing more auspiciousness. This auspicious expressive scene was the subject of a poster exhibition by Takashi Akiyama to celebrate the 48th anniversary of Tsinghua University's Academy of Fine Arts and the inauguration of the Art and Design Building at the Shanghai Institute of Applied Technology.
